Dissolve: A Moving Meditation Practice with Jordan Chemerys

Alternating Mondays

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Dissolve

Dissolve is a deeply calming and grounding moving meditation for quieting the mind and softening tension and expanding contraction through focused awareness. Rather than stretching, striving or forcing the body, we learn to soften from within, allowing what feels held or bound to dissolve like ice melting into water.

Drawing from practices and teachings including qigong, tai chi and yoga, Jordan uses breath, body scanning, imagery, subtle movement and exploratory communication to guide each person into their own experience. The practice responds to what is present within the individual and the room, which means no two classes are ever quite the same.

As contraction begins to release and the mind grows quieter, we become more present to sensation, movement and the spaciousness within and all around us. This can help settle the nervous system, restore a sense of groundedness and allow energy to move more freely through the body.

Dissolve is inclusive and accessible to beginners, with no previous experience needed. Each person is invited to explore the practice at their own pace and work with their body exactly as it is.
