Nia with Vita Wind

Nia

Nia is a fusion of dance (Jazz, Modern, Duncan dance), martial arts (tai chi, tae kwon-do, and aikido) and the healing arts (Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, and Yoga), blended to create an experience which nurtures the body, the mind, the spirit and the emotions.
You are encouraged to participate your body’s way - listening and being guided from within, in natural time.

Vita Wind

Vita Wind is a Certified Nia Blue Belt Instructor celebrating her 20th year of teaching. A lifelong passion for dance and movement have motivated her to be physical all her life. With experience in Modern Dance, Tai Chi and Yoga, she energizes her classes with this passion and infuses them with fluidity and grace.
Vita’s classes are fun and full of laughter, and students say they enjoy the sense of community and the welcoming environment she creates. She takes Nia seriously and her observations in the progress of her students, combined with her ongoing studies in movement and health, have convinced her that joyful, fun movement can alleviate and sometimes eliminate, physical and mental symptoms of ill health.

“Many years ago, I joined a Nia class out of curiosity and left a convert. There was no looking back, and Nia classes became part of my weekly routine. Not only did Nia release my stress (from a corporate world), but it reconnected me to my body and helped me heal a problematic back. I loved Nia from the start, for the dance, the music, the connection to self, the connection to spirit, and the healing that I experienced both in soothing my mind and healing my body. I have met the most wonderful people through Nia, and now many of them are my true and dearest friends.”

The physical activity of Nia can be a joy and a pleasure, and when you feel joyful you become well. Why would you NOT want to be a part of Nia?
